Our Story
A Journey of Healing and Empowerment
Our Story
Founded by a survivor of trauma, Art for Hope emerged from a vision to transform pain into purpose. Our journey began in the Dzaleka camp, where the struggles of refugees inspired a mission rooted in compassion and resilience.
The Founder’s Journey
After experiencing the profound effects of trauma, our founder discovered the healing power of yoga and the arts. This transformative journey ignited a passion to help others find their own paths to recovery. With a deep understanding of the challenges faced by refugees, our founder envisioned a safe space where individuals could heal, grow, and thrive.

In 2016, Art for Hope was born. What started as small yoga sessions quickly blossomed into a comprehensive program that addresses the diverse needs of the community. Through holistic wellness, education, and creative expression, we strive to empower refugees to rebuild their lives, one hope at a time.
Since our inception, we have impacted thousands of lives in the Dzaleka camp. Our programs in yoga, arts, education, and wellness have created a supportive community where individuals can connect, heal, and flourish. We have enrolled hundreds of children in educational initiatives, organized annual events to foster community spirit, and provided essential support to those in need.
As we continue to grow, our commitment remains steadfast. We envision a world where every refugee has access to mental health support, education, and opportunities for personal growth. With the help of our dedicated volunteers, partners, and supporters, we aim to expand our reach and deepen our impact.
